Biological Indicators are used to directly determine the presence of most resistance micro-organisms (Geobacillus or Bacillus) if are present and so serve as the most accepted form of sterilization process monitoring. Biological Indicators are most commonly known as BI’s help in sterilization identification of common microbial contaminants or pathogens found on medical equipment rather than just dispose of whether the chemical and physical sterilization conditions necessary are met.
